<The Rock voice>

FINALLY! The vix has come back to a piano scene!

</The Rock voice>

Anyway, this was more like what I was looking for when originally doing the "Lounge Against the Machine" render, but the smoke effects, known as volumetric lighting, took approximately 20 hours to render on my old computer.

Since I now have a new beast of a computer... I figured I'd try it again. What used to take 20 hours took about 30 minutes now. :D

Yes, I'm happy.

oddly enough, i was working on volumetric lighting this morning, too. Just to test out how it looks XD
Tho, i messed up the settings somewhere, and it took 2 hours to render (going past final render settings is not wise for testing purposes XD)
If you plug in a texture into the light's color slot, you can create stuff like sunbeams, moonbeams, or the illusion of things between the actual light and the scene (like a grated street light, or something), which i never used but found rather nifty.

The scene itself looks pretty cool, lighting is looking awesome. Maybe you could add a very subtle ambient light with it's atmospheric strength turned off (so it doesn't add up unnecessary render time by having to calculate the foggy ambience) to give some minor light to the completely dark parts of the picture, but dunno how that plays out :P
