Always been a fan of the Starfox games, ever since the one for the SNES.. One thing that always annoyed me was when doing the "barrel roll", as they called it. A real barrel roll has more of a corkscrew motion to the flight path, instead of still flying straight, and only the ship spinning on its axis.
The proper term for the one used in Starfox is an "aileron roll". You'd think a seasoned veteran like Peppy would have known the difference...

yeah, that's the real bullshit. my father works for NWA (now Delta), so i also grew up with aeronautics. it's strange how aeronauticaly illiterate some people can be sometimes
No, a barrel roll is essentially a path of a corkscrew, due to being performed by bringing the stick to the left or right, and also bringing the stick back a bit. But you see, it has a technical term: a barrel roll.
GODDAMN! YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY THINK THAT SHIT IS A BARREL ROLL

I've had a real-life pilot back me up on it, and I myself have had a long upbringing playing flight simulators on the PC back in the day..
